The campaign Disease Destroys, Hope Heals has just won the Grand Prix of the Latvian Design Awards 2025, and previously also the main prize of the ADwards. The campaign was created by the advertising agency Magic, whose artistic director Dace Izabella Grundšteina shares a nice touch on how to reconnect your hands with your head.

«When doing creative things, everyone gets stuck. I have a personal method of getting un-stuck. I take my old watercolor paints, but you could also do it with un-drunk coffee or anything that leaves a wet mark, and good, textured watercolor paper (this is the main prerequisite). Then I draw lines or write words that come to my mind and none of it looks good at all, but that’s not the point. The main thing is that somehow in this process the hands are reconnected with the head or the mind is freed from tension and ideas come from somewhere else. »

Dace Izabella Grundšteina has been an art director in the advertising industry for over ten years, most of which she has spent at her second home, Magic. Dace’s work has been awarded at various advertising festivals, such as Golden Drum, Miit&Links, ADwards and Latvian Design Awards. She is passionate about ideas that turn into tangible experiences.
